Privacy policy

This is the personal website of Danny Antonelli, the controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); contact details above. The site is designed to collect as little as possible.

No tracking, no cookies

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts are hosted on this server, so no request goes to Google or any other font service. Only when you press “Like” or write a comment does your own browser remember that (and, for comments, your name and email address for next time) in its local storage; this never leaves your device and you can delete it in your browser settings at any time.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. When you visit, the server briefly records technical data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are deleted by the host after a short period.

Contact form

When you send a message, your name, email address, the topic and your message are stored on this website's server so Danny can read and answer it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). They are not shared with anyone and are deleted once the conversation is finished.

Comments

If you comment on a blog post, your name, email address, comment and the time are stored on this website's server. Danny reads every comment before it is published; only your name, the date and your comment are shown — your email address never is. It is used only if Danny wants to answer you privately (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR). Write to the address above if you would like a comment removed.

Likes

Pressing “Like” only adds one to the counter of that post. No name, address or account is stored; to stop one visitor liking the same post many times, the server remembers your IP address together with the post for at most 24 hours, in memory only.

Newsletter (“Letters from Hamburg”)

If you sign up, your name and email address are stored on this server and used only to send you Danny's new blog posts by email (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You first receive one email asking you to confirm (double opt-in); without that confirmation you get nothing further. Every letter contains a one-click unsubscribe link; your address is then deleted. Letters are sent from this website's own server — no newsletter service is involved.

Videos, music and other embedded content

Videos on the homepage are loaded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode only after you click play. Some blog posts embed players from YouTube, Vimeo or Spotify; when such a post is opened, your browser connects to that provider, whose privacy policy then applies. Links to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, SoundCloud and other services lead to their own websites.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to a data-protection authority — in Hamburg: Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit. To exercise your rights, simply write to the address above.
